I love dark green veggies. Red or purple kale, in particular, is great either in savory dishes (especially a saag-style curry) or in smoothies. (Amy Boogie posted a couple of recipes.) This kale is from the farmers’ market on Saturday, at Landisdale Farm’s stand.

Yummmmm. I just had some young Scotch kale (and lots of lettuces and spinach and parsley and mint) in my salad tonight — from my own garden. Not that I’m bragging or anything. Heh. As a side note about the kale, I have always planted Red Russian kale, but this year I tried the Scotch. I think I might like the Scotch better, though it’s still early to tell.
